Anoka County Purchasing Director Named President of State Assoc.

The director of Anoka County Risk Management and Purchasing has been named president of the state association.

John Sullivan was sworn into the Minnesota Chapter of the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing association on Friday, Jan. 20.

The association aims to improve governmental purchasing departments and agencies.

Mayors' Trail Ride Tentatively Rescheduled for Feb. 11

The Mayors’ Trail Ride that was supposed to take place Jan. 21 has been rescheduled for Feb. 11.

Mayors of Andover, Anoka, Nowthen, Oak Grove, Ramsey, and St. Francis will be in attendance as they ride the trail along the Rum River. Other activities include bonfires, wine tasting, prizes, and food.

Snow Sculptures, Ice Fishing Featured at Ham Lake Snowbowl

Community members are invited to enjoy winter activities at the annual Ham Lake Snowbowl.

The event, now in its sixth year, includes a snow sculpture contest, ice fishing, sled dog rides, snow golf, broomball, helicopter rides, a snowmobile expo, music, and other activities.

East Bethel School Hosts 'Art in the Dark' Family Dance

Families can join East Bethel Community School for an “Art in the Dark” family dance.

Kids can create artistic treasures and dance with their family and friends. The event cost $5 per family and takes place from 6-8 p.m. this Friday, Jan. 27.

East Bethel Community School is part of the St. Francis School District.
